For the past couple of weeks I’ve been smelling that sweet coolant smell after driving but I can’t find any puddles under the car and the level in the reservoir drops very slowly. It’s not overheating and there’s no white smoke from the exhaust so I don’t think it’s a head gasket, but something is definitely going on. Could be a tiny leak that’s evaporating before it hits the ground, could be the heater core, could be the expansion tank cap. I found http://www.royalprinceautocare.com while trying to figure out where to take it and they seem to do proper pressure testing rather than just eyeballing it. Has anyone had a mystery coolant loss like this? What did it turn out to be and how did they find it? I’d rather sort it now than wait for it to become a bigger problem.
