I’ve been putting off getting the brakes done on my C-Class for a few weeks now because the squealing has been driving me mad, and I’m finally at the point where I can’t ignore it any longer. The noise started as a faint squeak when I first set off in the mornings, the sort of thing you tell yourself is just a bit of surface rust on the discs, but it’s now a proper squeal every time I slow down and the pedal feels softer than it used to. I’ve had a look through the spokes of the wheels and the pads look fairly thin, but I’m no expert and I’d rather get someone who knows what they’re looking at to check the discs as well, because I’ve heard that on these cars if the discs are worn or lipped you should really replace them at the same time rather than just slapping new pads on. What I’m trying to find is somewhere trustworthy that does premium Mercedes brake pad replacement in Dubai, ideally a place that uses decent parts and doesn’t try to charge me dealer prices for what is essentially a fairly straightforward job. I’ve had a couple of quotes already and they’re all over the place, which makes me suspicious, and one place told me I definitely needed new discs as well without even looking at the car properly, which didn’t fill me with confidence. Has anyone here actually had brake work done on a Mercedes in Dubai and been happy with the result? I’d really appreciate hearing roughly what you paid, whether they used genuine parts or good quality equivalents, and whether the noise and the soft pedal actually went away afterwards. Any honest recommendations would mean a lot because I don’t want to keep driving with brakes that feel unpredictable.
